Author Sharri Burggraaf
Sharri Burggraaf is a wife, mother, Nana rescued by Jesus Christ out of the captivity of ritual abuse, mind control and sex trafficking starting as a young girl. In recovery for 40 years she advocates for herself/others, speaks out for those who can't yet speak for themselves to raise awareness of multi-generational abuse and trafficking. She founded a non-profit organization S.H.O.U.T. and a National 3 day Conference and survivor art show in the mid 1990s. She is a writer, author, blogger, podcaster with a YouTube channel and survivor website ariseandshineafterabuse.com. She spoke at the Healing Together conference in Orlando, FL for 4 years in a row on the topic of RA/MC. She ministers to survivors, leads and teaches classes for women to encourage, motivate, inspire them to find their voice, write their story, and break the silence of shame. From overcoming extreme abuse and childhood trafficking after many years of healing, she lives to equip women of faith to guide others toward their God-given purpose and to be the person that God created them to be.
Former facilitator of dissociative writing workshop and founding member of Dissociative Writers, she thinks of DID as a marvelous coping mechanism that was created as a protection so that a child can "go away" while horrific trauma happens so that they can survive until God helps them to deal with the abuse "with them". She has helped thousands of survivors by validating their experience, supporting them in their recovery, and telling them of their intrinsic worth and value as a human being. She shares how God's love transformed her, how Jesus healed her and shares the hope that she has found with others so that they too can have victory over the darkness to bring the change and transformation of Jesus to this world. She has gone from religion to a relationship with Jesus, not conditioned rules and traditions, regulations or trying to be "good enough". She went from hating and condemning herself to accepting and loving herself. As people called to be disciples of the nations, she teaches women how to find their purpose and vision so that they can be Christ followers living in the world but not being like the world.

At Women of Purpose, we guide women to the healing that they need, to connect with the child that needs them, and to know and embrace their identity in Christ, have victory over the darkness and stand strong against spiritual battles.
This ministry helped me reclaim my identity in Christ and gave me strength to overcome my past.
